3/4″ Gravel
3/4-inch nominal gravel — confirm fines/clean requirement before quoting
3/4-inch gravel delivered for Utah projects where the required product, finish, drainage behavior, and placement plan are confirmed before dispatch.

Where it shines
- ✓Drainage layers and landscape top dressing when clean gravel is specified
- ✓Surface gravel where a project calls for a cleaner, no-fines appearance
- ✓Construction and utility work when the plans or contractor identify the required aggregate
Not the right choice for
- ✕Compacted structural base when the project needs 3/4-inch minus road base with fines
- ✕UDOT (Utah Department of Transportation) or engineered work without confirming the project-specific material requirement
- ✕Selecting by photo alone when drainage, compaction, or gradation matters
3/4 gravel delivery starts with the right question
“3/4 gravel” sounds specific, but it can describe different products. The first question is whether the job needs a cleaner aggregate with little or no fines or a 3/4-inch minus road base with fines that compacts into a structural layer.
That distinction changes how the material drains, compacts, looks, and performs. The most useful quote request includes the material name from the plans or contractor, the project use, approximate quantity, delivery location, and site-access photos.
3/4 gravel versus 3/4 minus road base
- 3/4 gravel: often used where a cleaner aggregate, drainage behavior, or finish appearance matters. Confirm the required product before dispatch.
- 3/4 road base: crushed aggregate with fines, intended to compact tightly for driveways, pads, and other sub-base work.
If the project is engineered, permitted, or has a specified aggregate, send the actual requirement. A generic material name is not a substitute for the specified product.

Is 3/4 gravel the same as 3/4 road base?+
Not necessarily. 3/4 road base, often called 3/4 minus, includes fines so it can compact into a firm base. 3/4 gravel can refer to a cleaner product with less or no fines. Tell us what the project calls for before we quote it.
Can I use 3/4 gravel for a driveway?+
It depends on the layer and the project. A driveway that needs a compacted structural base commonly uses road base with fines. A cleaner gravel may make sense for a top layer or a different application. Confirm the plan and site conditions before ordering.
