How to use this calculator

Step 1: Measure the area you want to cover — length and width in feet, or total square footage if you already have it.

Step 2: Decide on depth. Common depths:

  • Driveway road base: 4–6 inches compacted
  • Paver bedding sand: 1 inch
  • Pea gravel walkway: 2–3 inches
  • Topsoil over lawn prep: 3–6 inches
  • RV pad base: 6–8 inches compacted

Step 3: Add 10–20% for compaction and spillage. The calculator gives you a raw volume — real projects eat more than the math predicts.

When in doubt, call us with your dimensions . We've quoted thousands of loads and we can sanity-check your numbers before you commit.
